Name: Chongming Island Family Weekend

Chongming is China’s 3rd largest island and a major supplier of fresh vegetables to Shanghai.  On Friday, enjoy a lazy ferry ride to the island and a leisurely afternoon exploring the islands forest park. In the evening, learn the basics of the popular Chinese game “Ma Jiang”.  On Sunday, enjoy a ride through local farms and villages, and after lunch learn about the Island’s fascinating history at its local museum.

Moganshan Cycling and Hiking

Moganshan is one of China’s premier vacation spots and the perfect place for cycling!  On Saturday afternoon, enjoy a hike into the bamboo.  On Sunday take a bicycle tour around a local reservoir, a perfect spot for a swim when the sun is high!  Don’t forget your camera’s, the scenery is postcard-perfect.

mBiky and BOHDI® ADVENTURES have been planning the perfect escape for families with small kids,  a play-day and picnic at nearby Dianshan Lake.  Activities include Frisbee, Three Legged Races, Badminton, Scavenger Hunt and more! Enjoy the sun, explore the local lakeside nature park, enjoy some great fresh food and make some new friends! It’s what summer in Shanghai has always been missing!

Name: Family Ride at Xicen

Less than an hour from People’s Square, Xicen is just outside the city and a hidden treasure for those who need an escape.  Enjoy about 20km of easy riding along the trails that follow local barge lanes and loop though through local villages for a glimpse of simpler times. At lunch, snap some photos of the local boats floating goods hither and fro and trade “Hello!”’s with the helmsmen.

Hangzhou has been developed as China’s No.1 tourist destination, so you can imagine how crowded it gets!  We’ll simmer the city down into a few great experiences perfect for families and dodging the crowds.  Cross the famous Su Causeway, check out the night market, pick famous Dragon Well tea and learn how it is processed, and catch the stunning views of Westlake from Hangzhou’s second highest peak!

Name: Tianmu Lake Cycling and Hiking

Famous for fish, tea and home-produced raw-silk, Tianmu Lake is one of the best natural spots near Shanghai.  Arrive Saturday for lunch at a waterfront restaurant, and an afternoon bike to the booming town of LiYang on the banks of Tianmu.  Dinner will be barbecue served outdoors at our hotel nested at the base of the bamboo covered mountains.  On Sunday morning explore the hotel grounds, including pools and pagodas and take a short hike into the bamboo.
