XICEN,SHANGHAI SUBURB
1 Day—BIKING ADVENTURE
XICEN
Located only 45mins hours from downtown Shanghai is the quiet and peaceful rural area of Qingpu. An area of farming communities, peaceful canals and quiet brick villages that stand as if frozen in time against the sprawling urban hub of business and activity that lies to the East. This ride is the perfect day escape from Shanghai and an excellent chance to get a feel for a quainter portrait of China.
ADVENTURE DESCRIPTION
Our bike ride is a great combination of on and off road as we jump from canal-side single track to concrete village path to winding park lanes, passing through ancient gates and crossing stone bridges. There will be plenty of places to stop for some great pictures and snacks. The last part of the ride is a straight canal-side paved ride, perfect for cruising or racing to the finish.
POINTS OF INTERESTS
- A nice mix of some off road riding and comfortable country road cruising
- Peaceful countryside views and local villages
- A great Canal side park, perfect for lunch and a rest
- A bridge to nowhere and a temple that is not a temple
- A hidden Ghost-like painting that is rather interesting in the fact that it is there
